The two 325 0.050" chain types

These two types are quite similar and somewhat interchangeable (see notes below).

325 0.050" Narrow Kerf features:

  • cutters are made from 0.04" material (a), vs. 0.05"
  • kerf is 0.02" narrower (b)
  • bar is 0.02" thinner, about 0.155" (c) vs 0.170"

Types on comparison:
325 0.050" slightly stronger, requires a bit more power
325 0.050" narrow kerf: slightly less durable chain and bar, requires less power because of thinner cutter and narrower kerf
normal chain + narrow kerf bar mix works, bar bends a bit easier, chain requires a bit more power. Possible clearance issues with wider chain.
